First SJC Social Walk!
Have you been wanting to get your dog working in the real world with their obedience skills? Are you looking for safe situations to socialize your dog with other dogs in low-key manners? Do you have a well managed reactive dog who is looking to practice their behavior modification skills ? Are you looking to socialize and hang out with people who also enjoy working with their dog or who can relate to some of the struggles you have with your pup? If any of these answers are yes, you may enjoy joining SJC for a social walk!
Social walks are just what they sound like, group walks where humans can socialize, get some coaching on training skills, and focus on a specific skill each walk. They are also great opportunities for dogs to socialize with other dogs in a safe and low-key manner–remember dogs don’t have to play off-leash to be socializing. Although there will be opportunities for coaching through specific challenges and a training theme for each walk, they are not a class with specific curriculum. The cost for each team (essentially each dog) is $10 and can be paid at the walk.
This walk will be happening in North Park but the monthly SJC Social Walk will take place at parks all round the area. If you have a favorite park or walk, let me know and we’ll see if we can make it happen.
You do NOT have to pre-register or RSVP, but it may be helpful to know who to expect on our walks. So check out the flyer below for details of the walk! We will be meeting at the parking lot in front of Pie Traynor field at 10am!
